TRAPtest

TRAPtest

DISCONTINUED (REPLACEMENT: ABP-TRA-1)

INTENDED USE

Multiplate® is for research use only in the US and Canada.

Multiplate® TRAPtest is a reagent kit used for research platelet aggregation studies for the evaluation of normal platelet function on the Multiplate® analyzer and for the research evaluation of qualitative platelet disorders and platelet function inhibition. Sensitive to the action of glycoprotein (Gp) IIb/IIIa receptor antagonists and/or a deficiency of GpIIb/IIIa receptors.

KIT COMPOSITION

Reagents, Storage and Stability

  • MP0250: Multiplate® TRAPtest reagent, Kit, 3 x 1.0 ml. 150 tests. Reagent is stable until the expiration date printed on the vial label when stored at 2-8°C. Stable 7 days after reconstitution when stored at 2-8°C. Stable 4 weeks after reconstitution when stored at < -20°C. Stable for 24 hours at room temperature after one-time thawing.
  • MP0095: Multiplate® TRAPtest Aliquot Vials, Bag, 100 color coded (yellow) micro test tubes.

MEASUREMENT PRINCIPLE

In the TRAPtest, platelets are activated by TRAP-6, a peptide that mimics the activation of platelets by thrombin. Thrombin is the most potent platelet activator. The action of thrombin is not blocked by the antiplatelet agent acetylsalicyclic acid (ASA) or P2Y12 antagonists. However, thrombin (and TRAP-6) activated platelets are blocked by the action of GPIIb/IIIa antagonists.
